Who we are
Locked In Locksmiths (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a mobile locksmith service based in Cedar Creek, Queensland, serving Logan, Brisbane southside and the northern Gold Coast. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or book our services, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
- Enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number and message when you use the quote form or call us.
- Job details — the address where work is carried out and a description of the job (for example, the locks, doors or vehicle involved), kept as part of our job records and invoicing.
- Identity information — details sighted during identity and entitlement checks (see the next section).
- Website usage data — first-party analytics such as the pages you visit and how you arrived, plus technical data like browser type and approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this to improve the site, not to profile you across other websites.
Identity and proof-of-ownership checks
Opening a lock, rekeying a property or cutting keys for a vehicle is only done for people entitled to that access. Before starting this kind of work we may ask to sight photo identification and reasonable proof of ownership, residency or authority — for example, a driver licence, a lease or rates notice, vehicle registration papers, or written authority from the owner. We sight these documents to confirm entitlement and note the check in the job record; we do not keep copies unless a record is genuinely required (for example, to document a dispute) — and then only for as long as necessary.
How we use your information
We use the information above to respond to enquiries and provide quotes, deliver and invoice locksmith services, keep the business records the law requires us to keep, verify entitlement before security-sensitive work, and improve this website. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.
Who we share it with
Your information is shared only with the service providers that keep this business running — website hosting, email delivery and analytics providers acting on our behalf — and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. Some hosting and email infrastructure may store data outside Australia; we choose reputable providers with appropriate safeguards.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax and business records).
Cookies and analytics
This site uses privacy-respecting, first-party analytics to understand how it is used. Where cookies are used, you can control or clear them through your browser settings; the site keeps working without them.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it. To make a request, use the contact details below — we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
